JHB TRADING

SOCIAL MEDIA assistant
2022
- As a social media assistant, I was responsible for the company's internet presence. My responsibilities included making posts about restocks and new merchandise. I was using various kinds of promotions, such as creating ads and boosting messages on Facebook. After posting, I would review the data and determine what was more effective. Analyzing the data would enable me to determine what to do next in order to stay within budget while reaching as many people as possible. This chance provided me with soft skills such as improved communication, confidence, and teamwork. I was constantly in meetings with the owner, so I learned about the inner workings of a business and what was required of me. I also obtained more knowledge about social media, marketing, and the ability to analyze data in order to make successful choices.
SALES ASSOCIATE
2020 - 2021
My position at JHB was to work as a sales associate and cashier. A normal day at my job would include assisting customers in any aspect possible, such as assisting them with checking out, selecting the proper sizing, and providing fashion advice if requested. Other tasks involved restocking items and keeping products. Through this position, I was able to improve my skills in sales because I learned how to think like our target consumers and was able to connect with them better.

BRAND LINE
For a product development class, I developed the brand Gilded Youth.
-
Selected a target market and a niche to offer clothing to.
-
Researched patterns relevant to the niche
-
Using Adobe Illustrator, I sketched designs and made CADs.
-
Created tech packets for each garment.
-
Developed a website to showcase the ideas

Business Plan
I made a business plan in my Fashion Entrepreneurship class for my personal brand Gilded Youth.
-
I established the brand’s mission/goals, target market, products sold, and retail format.
-
I also did a market, target consumer, and competitive analysis
-
Then I decided on details like product sourcing, marketing strategies,
-
Then I made decisions on specifics such as product sourcing, marketing strategies, and how the store would operate by determining the shopping experience and customer service.
-
This plan also contains a management strategy, employee qualifications, benefits, hiring procedures, and an example schedule.
-
I also predicted the start-up costs, fixed costs, planned sales, and break-even sales revenue.

Promotional Branding
In my Branding & Fashion Technology class I developed promotional designs for Gilded Youth.
-
I started off by redesigned the original logo using IbisPaintX (redesigned to be easier to place on merchandise or labels)
-
Then I designed a crest incorporating the new logo to add interest to packing or designs.
-
After I began to design what the clothing tag would look like on IbisPaintX. I created a physical model using materials I had at home.
-
Lastly, I created a mock-up of the packaging using the new logo and crest.

REd+black
- Used Adobe Illustrator to change CADs into my own designs.
- The theme is based on a book portfolio that I made.
- Mainly inspired by streetwear.

For my Professional Image Management class I helped style a client by analyzing her features.
-
The goal was to help the client find new clothes that they would like and would flatter their body, skin color, face, and overall appearance.
-
Looked at clients' traits like face shape, body shape, color season, etc.
-
Using my knowledge about her and what pairs well with her traits, I found garments, shoes, and accessories that would look good on the client.
Visual Display

In my Principles of Fashion Merchandising class I designed visual merchandising display.
-
The theme of the visual fashion display is "Japan" with a modern twist
-
The color scheme is red and blue
-
Extras like paper cranes, lanterns, and Japanese snacks were places to enhance the theme
-
The project allowed me to practice advertising by pulling in people visually
